I’m not a huge breakfast person, I don’t like a ton of breakfast foods even in the best of times. However, I know that breakfast is a very important meal to have. It helps break your fast and when I don’t eat it, I get hangry and I eat a huge meal for lunch and it’s not great. In the morning I’m usually rushing and need something quick! So I decided to inspire positive energy and mindset with this drink.
I found an amazing drink that really does wake me up in the morning and contains so much positive energy I can feel it filling me up and my day is always better when I drink anything with matcha in it! It’s literally my super drink. Have you heard of matcha? If not here’s a brief overview. Matcha is a finely ground powder of specially grown green tea leaves. Since it is basically the same as green tea it has the same benefits such as preventing heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and cancer while aiding in weight loss.
As far as the meal replacement powder that I use it’s the Garden Life Organic Vegan Meal Replacement Shake mix. I like it although it doesn’t always blend well because I don’t put it in the blender I just mix it with a spoon.
Now that we’ve gotten all the nutritional info out of the way let’s get into the actual drink.
I put about half a cup or so of oat milk. I get the plain to help reduce sugar also my meal replacement is vanilla so that’s just a vanilla overload.
I then create my matcha. This is probably the longest part of the process.
- I grab a little jar and fill it up with a tiny bit of water, maybe a tbs or so.
- Place a straner on top of the jar an place a tsp of matcha and shift it through to get rid of the lumps.
- Then get your frother and froth it up baby for a minute or to then pour on top.
After that I grab my metal straw and enjoy :).
