Creating My Signature Coffee Scrub

diy coffee scrub

I love a good exfoliator. It’s amazing to walk out of the shower feeling like a smooth moisturized goddess with a nice glow and scent. I looked up coffee scrubs and found many recipes, but when I tried them for myself, they never made my skin feel the way I wanted it to.

There are 3 main components in the scrub:

So on to the actual making.

I use items I have in my home. First, the coffee grounds. I keep a bag of used coffee grounds in my kitchen, sometimes I use it for my scrubs and my plants. Double whammy.

Coconut Oil- I know that coconut oil isn’t as loved as it once was but just like olive oil I still love it.

Essential Oil– I love to add a nice fragrance like citrus or something warmer in fall like vanilla.

Brown Sugar– For a little bit of sweetness

My Scrub Recipe

*This is a handmade recipe and I trust the ancestors to guide me so the measurements will be rough*

About two cups of coconut oil

3 cups of coffee grounds (used)

2 tbsp of brown sugar (optional)

Mix ingredients in one large bowl until completely mixed then pour into jar. Store in a cool dry place.

I use this scrub one to two times a week focusing on rough areas like knees, feet, and elbows. I then apply a thick moisturizer and my skin stays soft all day long.
