It’s no secret that I love plants, I wouldn’t be a little hippie if I didn’t! They bring so much joy and life into any space and it is also known that the color green encourages balance in the brain. I started my home jungle in 2016 when I needed a hobby to fill my time and throughout the time I had my plants the garden has just grown and flourished and it started me on my journey to a happier, healthier, and more balanced life. If you’re interested in a more balanced life and or want to get into gardening in general I recommend you read on. I will discuss some plants that will help you create a more positive environment in your home.
Do plants make you happy?
According to a study in the Journal of Psychological Anthropology active interaction with indoor plants like touching or smelling can reduce physical and psychological stress. I know for me when I repot my plants I usually have soft music playing and when the music plays I’m almost in a trance. Nothing can bother me when I’m out there and the mood transcends for hours after.
Plants That Promote Positive Energy
This was one of my dream plants, I know it’s so common but I haven’t gotten a chance to get it until recently. It has been a joy to have. The lush deep green leaves are beautiful and when the flower pop up in between the leaves are gorgeous. It also improves the air quality in the home and reduce headaches. The plant is a symbol of peace, solitude, and tranquility, this low quality plant is a reminder that to find peace within yourself, stay calm and remain positive.
It’s no secret that basil is tied to the healing and spiritual realm. This plant emits oxygen and absorbs carbon monoxides, it works best in the north or northeast-facing place in your home. It’s known for radiating positive energy and is a great antioxidant.
Bamboo is a plant that represents strength, flexibility, and health. It teaches us to stand upright and its flexibility teaches us to adapt to the harshest circumstances. (Cozy Earth) Bamboo is one of the most durable and versatile plants out there it teaches us to stand strong and remain flexible even in the harshest conditions. I love this message with the bamboo plant, I’ve had my plant since I first started gardening. It has and will always be my understated beauty and if it can handle being the ‘first born’ of my plant babies then we can get through anything.
I love this plant because it’s so pretty to me and grows so long and gorgeous. They represent perseverance because their vines grow long and strong with such determination. These easy-to-grow plants remind us that we can flourish anywhere at any time as long as we’re open to receiving change. Pothos is one of my favorite plants it’s so beautiful and it does grow very fast and creates such a beautiful trail of greenery that feels the place with a such reassuring calming energy that I just love.
